Fair Food Frenzy: End Summer on a Sweet Note with these Fair-Inspired Recipes to Make at Home!

The Minnesota State Fair is a big deal here in Minnesota, often referred to as “The Great Minnesota Get-Together.” There is a good reason it is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the region with thousands of visitors a day in a 12-day period. Although there are plenty of big events, vendors, rides, music, etc. that make this end-of-summer event truly unique, it is most known for the FOOD!

The biggest topic every year is what new crazy foods will be at the state fair and it never disappoints! It is most known for its offering of deep-fried classics and unique offerings (deep-fried butternut squash ravioli anyone?), many foods on a stick, corn on the cob classics, to fun drinks, pickle-themed treats, tubs of chocolate chip cookies, and much more.

We do feel the culinary inspiration and creativity every year which draws us to the event, but sometimes crowds and lines are not for everyone. We also know many don’t have a state fair event quite like this in their hometown, especially if located outside the Midwest/Texas.
