Construction
The Nordic Ware Classic 9 x 13 Pan with Embossed Prism Lid includes a rectangular baking pan and matching metal lid, both made from pure, uncoated natural aluminum. The aluminum construction provides efficient heat conductivity for even baking and roasting. The lid features an embossed Prism surface and integrated lipped handles for secure lifting and handling.
Performance
Natural aluminum distributes heat across the pan surface for consistent browning and cooking. Use the 9 x 13 pan for casseroles, lasagna, brownies, sheet cakes, roasted vegetables, baked pasta, and family-sized meals. The metal lid can also be used separately as a baking sheet, adding another surface for cookies, pastries, roasted foods, and other oven recipes.
Design
The embossed Prism grid adds structural strength while creating channels that promote airflow across the aluminum surface. On the lid, the textured design provides a functional baking surface when used separately from the pan. The raised pattern also helps reduce direct contact between food and the pan surface, supporting airflow and even browning.
Size and Versatility
The 9 x 13 inch rectangular pan provides ample capacity for family meals, desserts, casseroles, and batch baking. Use the pan and lid together when covering prepared foods or transporting dishes, or use the metal lid separately as an additional baking sheet. This two-piece design provides multiple options for baking, roasting, serving, and meal preparation.
Storage and Transport
The fitted metal lid covers the 9 x 13 pan for convenient storage and transport of casseroles, baked dishes, leftovers, and prepared foods. Lipped handles provide a secure grip when placing or removing the lid. Unlike plastic storage lids, the aluminum lid is oven safe and can be used as a separate baking surface.
Care Instructions
The pan and metal lid are oven safe up to 500 F (260 C). Hand wash both pieces with warm, soapy water. For easier food release from the uncoated aluminum surfaces, use parchment paper, a silicone baking mat, or traditional butter or shortening and flour methods. Metal utensils and scouring pads may scratch natural aluminum but will not affect baking performance.
