Use & Care

  1. Before initial use and after subsequent uses, hand wash with warm, soapy water.
  2. Dishwasher use is not advised, as discoloration will occur due to the cleaning agents used in automatic dishwasher detergent. This discoloration is merely cosmetic and will not affect baking properties or safety of the pan.
  3. Natural aluminum pans work well with parchment paper, silicone baking mats, and also traditional butter or shortening and flour methods. When roasting savory foods such as vegetables, butter or cooking oil work well.
  4. Nylon, wood, or silicone utensils are recommended. Metal utensils and scouring pads may scratch natural aluminum pans, but will not affect baking performance.
  5. Aluminum is reactive to acidic ingredients such as vinegar and tomato products. These foods may darken, pit or corrode the pan after prolonged use.

Product Reviews

Great pan. I ordered two of them. When baking, I’ve used Pam spray or Crisco shortening to grease them, and both of these work well. I’ve not had anything stick to them yet. I also bought two of the 1.5 pound loaf pans, and those work exactly like this size. I’m very happy with my pans. I do appreciate that these are made in the U.S.

It’s true! They never rust and they bake evenly, better than any other bread pans I’ve used.

I am glad to have a smaller aluminum 8X4 inch loaf pan to bake quick breads. I made key lime bread with a golden crust and banana bread with evenly baked sides I gave an extra loaf pan to a friend who enjoyed the bread and these older-style aluminum pan.

I bought a set of these as I have been doing more bread making lately. I used them today and they worked perfectly. The crust turned out perfect…not hard! Also the loaves slipped right out of the pan. I love Nordicware products!! They have never failed me, and they are made in America which makes them a joy to purchase and give as gifts; knowing I’m supporting an American business and workers. Also…I personally love that the dont have handles because I can fit more in my oven at once.

Really happy with this pan! I have been searching for a smaller (8×4-ish) metal loaf pan without a nonstick coating FOREVER, and they are near impossible to find! I was really happy to finally locate one. Ordered two, gave them a test run, and am very satisfied. The only thing that could be improved is that it would help to have more of a lip/handle on the side to make it easier to get them out of the oven. Not an insurmountable problem–just have a couple pot holders ready.
