Grilled Monte Cristo Sandwich

This classic Monte Cristo sandwich is grilled to perfection using our Sandwich and Grill Press. A delicious melty combination of ham and cheese served with raspberry jam for dipping. Easy to create for breakfast or lunch!
- 2 eggs
- Pinch of salt and pepper
- 4 slices sturdy white bread (or bread of preference)
- Dijon mustard
- ½ lb. sliced ham
- Shredded Gouda cheese (Gruyere or Swiss can also be used)
- Raspberry jam for serving (or jam of preference)
Whisk eggs in a shallow dish (large enough to fit a sandwich) along with salt and pepper. Set aside.
For sandwich assembly, spread a layer of mayo and mustard on each piece of bread. Layer slices ham and add shredded cheese on top. Place other bread slice on top.
Preheat Sandwich & Grill Press on medium heat according to instructions.
Dip and coat sandwich in egg mixture, making sure both sides are coated completely. Place on preheated press and close top of press. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side or until browned to liking and cheese has melted. Repeat with second sandwich. Serve Monte Cristo with jam for dipping.
