Use & Care

Use:

  1. Place strips of bacon on the bacon tray, ensuring they do not overlap.
  2. Place in microwave and cook on high for one minute per piece of bacon. Cook at additional 30 second intervals until bacon is completely cooked. Cooking times can vary due to microwave used.

Care:

  1. Before initial use and after subsequent uses, hand wash with warm, soapy water.
  2. Do not use under the broiler or on stovetop burners.
  3. Dishwasher use is not recommended, as it may discolor the product.
  4. Use of metal utensils may scratch the surface of this product and therefore is not recommended.
  5. Oven safe to 400°F

    I’ve had one of these before & really liked it. It was worn out so I ordered a new one. If you haven’t tried one of these, you need to if you are like everyone else & love bacon. Very easy way to cook, & save the unneeded grease for other things.

    This is a replacement for a tray that I have been using for years. It’s well-designed and easy to clean.

    Works great for cooking bacon. Two slices of bacon on a paper towel, covered with a paper towel, cooked for 2 minutes and 30 seconds. Bacon comes out perfect.

    We have a Nordic Ware bacon tray that came with a microwave we bought at least 30 years ago that is still in great shape. My husband cooks about 4# of bacon at a time, and thought having a second one would make the cooking time go faster. It does and we love it. We were surprised that after so many years you were still making them. It s a great product!

    I do not know how we would cook bacon without this tray. Super easy and super easy to clean. Depending on the thickness of the bacon from 6-8 minutes, and it is crispy and done. The bacon drippings flow to the catch basin for easy disposal. Just a few paper towels over the bacon and presto, no splashes in the microwave. Love this Bacon Microwave Cooker.

    We have had this Microwave Bacon Tray for about three years. It makes the bacon crisp and perfectly done. We place at least 3 layers of paper towels over the bacon so no spatters. Depending on the thickness of the bacon takes about 5-7 minutes to cook. No mess. Just wipe the tray and into the dishwasher for super-quick cleanup. Highly Recommended.

    Love this microwave bacon cooker. It cooks bacon wonderfully well every time and cleans up quickly with a handwash. The plate is actually too large for my microwave and does not circle round on my turntable, but it still cooks perfectly in one position.

    We use this when we serve bacon for any recipe. For example: Quiche, when we want the bacon already cooked and drained. We cover the bacon with 4 layers of paper towels. Catches all splatters and we wipe the fat up from the tray and then the Bacon Tray goes into the Dishwasher. We have not used it for defrosting yet but may try it.

    I bought this recently and loved it so much I bought another. Most of these now are so small but this is great and the grease runs into the reservoir! Cleans easy. I wanted to get more for gifts and the store is out and website says OUT OF STOCK. Ihope you continue making these. I’d love to buy some!

    These trays are to replace a tray I have had over 30 years. Excellent for cooking bacon without a lot of mess. I was so pleased to finally find a replacement.

    I used the same product for over 7 years. It split in the rear of the tray and had to be replaced. The new one seems to be a much improved product. Bacon residue comes off completely in the dishwasher. The old one needed some scrubbing to get to the same level of cleanliness.

    I own and use both the Compact flat and Large Slanted bacon racks. They get used many times daily the slanted one is more than 20 years old, I bought it back in the mid 1970’s, the Compact flat one I purchased about 15 years ago. They are excellent for bacon, but also serve well as a rack to simply put a food to defrost upon re-heat and in my home the cup of coffee is often re-heated upon the tray also. I highly recommend both of the tray designs, but use the compact tray for heating other products most often.

    My grandparents had one of these when I was growing up and liked it. I hadn’t seen one in a long time and stumbled on one in at a retail store and decided I would try it myself. It works very well. I always cover it with a paper towel and have never had a problem with spattering or cleanup. I always wash it by hand because it cools to the touch quickly and if I wash it while it’s still warm, any stuck on grease comes right off. Great product!

    Nice tray but measure the inside of your microwave before ordering as it may not rotate on a carousel style microwave. Other than that, you can’t go wrong with Nordic Ware products!

    My mother gave me several years ago shortly after microwaves became popular this bacon rack. I purchased a second one for myself along with one for each of my children. That way they have their own. We love how easy it is to fix bacon. Our grandchildren love bacon!

    I have owned the large slanted bacon tray for over 15 years. I bought this for the size. It is perfect for 2 people. I have used this at least 20 times. It is the best product for cooking bacon. It cleans up so easy.

    I bought a new slanted bacon tray to replace the one I used for over 15 years.

    I find that this product holds up better than any of the competing tray type bacon microwave cookers. But if you use it be prepared for a major cleaning of you microwave. As with the other brands – no lid, no cover, LOTS of bacon grease spattered around in the microwave. At least with the round version (#62404 – 2 sided grill) you can use either of the 10″ plate covers. (But they only hold 2 pieces of bacon unless you curl them up…) Covering with paper towels is dangerous (they may slide into the grease trough) and plastics of course will melt. So save 20 minutes cooking bacon for the family versus the frying pan, spend 20 minutes scrubbing the microwave. If there is ever a lid made for this I would rate this a 5.

    Works great. If you like your bacon crispy you end you end w/ browned stuff in the bottom. No worries-comes off just fine in the dish washer.
