Stars, Stripes…and swimming!

Summer in Minnesota is amazing…and way too short in my opinion! I sometimes wish Minnesota was just a bit further south, so we could have just one (or maybe three) more months of summer. I would fill those summer days with swimming, playing outside, BBQs with friends and basking in the warmth of the sun! Hey, a born and raised Minnesota girl can dream!

Because of my adoration for summer, July 4th is one of my favorite holidays to host a party! Every year, my entire family comes over to our house for an all day celebration filled with swimming, eating, fishing, playing yard games, more eating, and of course fireworks.

We gorge ourselves with smoked chicken, veggie kabobs, quinoa salad and of course everyone’s favorite and the star of the party (pun intended)…Cherry Pie!
