1. Hand wash in warm, soapy water.
2. Avoid contact with open flame.

It turns pink when the cake is done—very helpful. Taking off a star because it isn’t very well made: part of the material that turns pink fell off within the first few uses! Enough remains that I continue to use it happily however.

I thought this would be a good tool for testing my bundt cakes, but I was disappointed, in that the tip REALLY DOESN’T “turn red,” just a little ring around the top of the tip—it STAYS red, where the tip looks foggy, as in the video above. I just test my bunts with a normal cake tester now. Great idea though.

I might be doing something wrong but it seems to take a long time to work or gives an inaccurate reading. I went back to using toothpicks. They are the tried and true method for years. I thought the cake tester would be something cool to use, but I was wrong.
