    I had been very frustrated with my gas stove. I could no longer make Christmas candy or simmer a stew because the burner flame is very uneven, producing hot spots. While browsing the Nordic Ware website, I spotted these “Heat Tamer and Stove Adapter Plates” and bought one. It solved my problem. I made delicious fudge and toffee for Christmas and made a delicious cheese soup. All simmered evenly! While making hot fudge sauce, I became distracted and left it cooking more than 10 minutes to long and it did not burn. I was so excited, I ordered three more and am anxiously awaiting their arrival. The only down side is things take longer to come to a boil but for me producing a good product is worth the wait. My husband is very happy he no longer needs to listen to me complain about the stove.

    I bought a new stove 7 years ago. Ever since I have been unable to make candy successfully or to simmer sauces, soups or stews because of uneven flame and hot spots on all 4 burners. A gas repair man told me there was nothing he could do . My problem was the design of the stove. While browsing the Nordic Ware sight, I saw these Heat Tamer and Stove Adapter Plates. I bought one to see if I could once again make my Christmas toffee that my children loved. The toffee and fudge both boiled evenly and came out perfectly. I made soup and it simmered perfectly. While making hot fudge sauce I got distracted and cooked it at least 10 minuted to long it did not burn or scorch the bottom of my pan. My husband is happy because he is no longer hearing me complain about the stove. I I am on line today to buy 3 more Heat Tamer and Stove Adapter Plates for the rest of my burners. I would give them 10 stars if that were an option.

    I’ve had my Heat Tamer for over a year. I use it on my gas cooktop when making sauces, curds, gravy, oatmeal … anything I don’t want to scorch. It works great.

    Purchased July 2020 — products protect burner coils and create even heat, which is great for larger pans. However, three warped (one with edges that fold up, and two with raised centers) within six months. Still using them because they protect the rest of the stove, but they aren’t flat and no longer distribute heat evenly. Paint flaked off as soon as they started to warp.

    I wanted to buy a made-in-USA product, so I bought this item after I read other reviews. It works as expected….even better. I have some older pans and a griddle and now see the benefit of this item as my old ‘stuff’ now cooks better than it ever has. Example: I have a name-brand griddle that has never cooked my bacon evenly on an electric stove. First time I used the Heat Tamer, my bacon cooked evenly. Honestly, I was shocked. I plan to buy one more so I can use at least two surfaces at a time.

    I had originally bought two from Sur La Table. This was over 2 years ago. I had only recently noticed the center of both became less flat. Both were with a mild raised center that prevent the pots/pans to lie flat on the stove top. I notified Nordic Ware and was promptly sent two new replacements. I do enjoy using these and am hoping they won’t have any issues in the future.

    Works great. I keep it on my gas stove and use it daily
