Our Heritage

Nordic Ware was founded in 1946 after WWII by Dotty and Dave Dalquist with just $500 and a few Scandinavian-inspired pans in the basement of their Minneapolis home. What started as a small family venture has grown into a trusted American kitchenware brand known around the world.

Nordic Ware Since 1946 From Basement Beginnings to Kitchenware Legacy

Creator of the Iconic Bundt® Pan "There's a hole in this cake"

Nordic Ware has made these beautiful pans since the 1950s, when co-founder Dave Dalquist coined and trademarked the name “Bundt” for our fluted ring cake pan. With its center tube to distribute heat for even baking, and its elegant shape, the Bundt® Pan took off after the 1966 Pillsbury Bake-Off and has been shared with millions worldwide.
