Ingredients

  • 1 (13.25 oz) box yellow cake mix
  • 4 eggs
  • 3/ 4 cup sour cream
  • 1/ 2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/ 4 cup water
  • 1/ 2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips, melted

Directions

Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease and flour pan; set aside. In large bowl, combine cake mix, eggs, sour cream, oil, water, sugar and vanilla. Beat on medium speed, 2 minutes, scraping bowl often.  Remove one-third of the batter and place in small bowl; set remaining batter aside. Stir melted chocolate into batter in small bowl.  Spoon half of the vanilla batter and half of the chocolate batter into prepared pan. Using a small spatula, gently swirl batters together. Spoon 
remaining batters into pan and swirl again. Bake for 40-45 minutes, until toothpick inserted comes out clean. Cool 10 minutes in pan; invert onto cooling rack and cool cake completely. Decorate as desired.

    I made one for Christmas and one for New Year, it was a hit with all the family. So moist beautiful flavour even the finicky eater gave me a compliment and asked for a second slice.

    Looks nice to serve and tastes great, very moist and tender crumb. Big hit with the whole family. My box of yellow cake was 15.25 ounces but it turned out fine.
