I love this product. It makes perfect eggs, hard or soft whichever you prefer. You just have to get the timing right and follow the easy directions. I found that 12 minutes is perfect for 4 extra large eggs. Simple and easy, and works every time. No more guessing at the time of boiling water!

I love it and use it several times a week. In my microwave it takes 7 minutes and 40 or 50 seconds for soft boiled eggs. I cook four and eat only one or two for breakfast. The rest go into the refrigerator until I need them. To reheat I have a soft boiled egg "cracker" and once cracked the eggs can be heated in the microwave for 14 or 15 seconds for a hot breakfast.

I used mine all the time for hard and medium eggs in a 600 watt microwave. I now have a 1300 watt microwave and can't find the booklet (post-move chaos). I was hoping the chart with wattages and suggested cooking times would be available here, but no luck. I guess I get to experiment!

Kelly, thank you for posting the instructions link!

And hey, Nordic Ware, how about posting the instructions here, or at least the cooking tables with the microwave wattages and cooking times? . . .

  • Kelly on April 2, 2016 at 7:56 am

I found instructions you can view and print at the following site: http://www.manualslib.com/manual/543469/Nordic-Ware-4-Cavity-Hard-And-Soft-Egg-Cooker.html?page=2

Hi Jamie, I have this item and have the instructions.  They only go up to 1000watt microwave not to 1300.  If it will help, with a 1000 watt these are the times:  Soft - 5minutes; medium - 6minutes;  hard - 8 minutes
If you need any other info or would like a copy of the sheet you can email me and I’ll send you a photo of it.

Perfect. Time and hassle saver. I haven't made hard boiled eggs on the stove since I bought this. It takes a few tries to determine the time for the particular microwave, then it's hands off, no need to hover over it like when using the stove. For my microwave, it's 9 minutes cooking and then 15 minutes resting.

We have two o f these. One in the house and one in the motor home. I like hard boiled eggs for breakfast and this is the fastest easiest way to get them. Follow the instructions and it works. I have had a couple of eggs blow up but I put that down to the egg. They also blow in boiling water.
