Press beautifully geometric patterns in this classic sweet sugar cookie recipe! Simply roll dough, press with stamp designs and bake for a visually appealing cookie display. As an option, dip in dark chocolate and add crushed peanuts, heath bar, sprinkles or more for a tasty treat.
Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter at room temperature
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 2 2/3 cup flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- Optional: melted chocolate chips, crushed peanuts, heath bar or sprinkles
Directions
Cream butter and brown sugar with electric mixer at medium speed until fluffy. Beat in egg and vanilla. In separate bowl combine flour, baking powder and salt. Add flour mixture to batter slowly. Blend thoroughly. Turn out dough on surface and knead until smooth. Refrigerate for 2-3 hours.
Preheat oven to 350˚F. Let dough sit out for a few minutes to soften slightly. Roll into golf ball-sized balls and press with floured cookie stamps on baking sheet. Bake 10-12 minutes. Carefully remove and cool on rack. Repeat steps with remaining dough.
Optional:
Once cookies are cooled, dip in melted dark chocolate if desired. Add your favorite topping addition on top of melted chocolate such as crushed peanuts, heath bar, sprinkles and more!

These are delicious and easy to make! kiddos liked it with chocolate dipping, but I think they are plenty flavorful on their own.

Great recipe – a hint of caramel flavor from the brown sugar.
