I love this pan. I have been making tons of 3D, candy filled cookies by putting one side of the cup on a regular round cookie base. I've been blogging all kinds of holiday varieties, and heartily recommend this pan for a fun take on cookies! I will say that depending on what dough you use, it can be a bit fiddly to get the dough properly onto the pan. You definitely need to remember to spray the cup-cutter plastic side or your dough will stick in it. It takes a bit of practice to learn to get the dough on properly first so the cookies come out as even as possible, and even then they do not come out as perfect half spheres, mostly because the dough itself will move around as it cooks. Again, some doughs puff or shift more than others. Get yourself this pan, experiment a few times, and soon you'll be making impressive treats.
