1. Before initial use and after subsequent uses, wash with warm, soapy water and dry thoroughly.
2. Dishwasher safe.
3. To keep scoop mechanism working smoothly, you may use a small amount of vegetable oil on the gear.

I have wanted one of these for a while. I chose Nordic Ware brand because of satisfaction with the quality of products. This cookie scoop works OK. I was a bit disappointed that there is an 1/8 inch gap between the scoop bowl and the release lever, so a thin layer of cookie dough remains.
